Like many, I grew up in an environment that taught me many unhealthy ways to manage stress and overwhelm that I carried well into adulthood, and still struggle to conquer.
Those included;
🩹 Suppressing overwhelm and pretending I’m OK until it explodes and I have no choice but to acknowledge it
🩹 Blaming others for my overwhelm and not looking for the role I played in it
🩹 Using alcohol, substances, and workaholism to numb and ignore it
